Songs For The Northern Ireland Women’s Team at Euro 2022

A Song For Euros Niamh Rooney

A 4-1 aggregate victory over Ukraine in 2021 meant elation and a dream beyond belief. Ranked fourth in our group, we beat Belarus and Ukraine home and away and drew twice with Wales. All those teams were ranked above us. The girls were sensational!

Here are some of the songs that have been released to celebrate our first appearance at a major tournament. If you know of any others not mentioned, please get in touch.

3D Shark – A Song For Euros (with Niamh Rooney)

This tune has it all. Rhythm, beat, great singer and lovely cover art. Like Kylie Minogue’s hit in 2001, I just can’t get this out of my head!! You can listen to it on Spotify and YouTube.

Track 2 – Can You Believe It? (with Niamh Rooney)

The Back Four featuring Rwanda Shaw – Electric Green

From the Mexico 86 World Cup to the England 2022 Euros via Ian Stewart. Legendary Northern Ireland international Stewart scored the winner against West Germany on his Northern Ireland debut in 1982.

Jessica Hammond – Girl Got Game

Finally, as a geek fact, 3D Shark also released a song for Euro 2016 when the men’s team qualified! Referencing Tayto Cheese and Onion and the Giant’s Causeway, the below was sung by Jackie Fullerton.
